News!!!

Okay, so the first bit of news is that i had recieved a silver medal for one of my competitions this past weekend. There were only 7 of us competing in the baking and pastry event. we all went at once, even though they were going to have us go in shifts. It was cool because i knew one of the people there, his name is hung. I work with him actually, the only problem is that he only works sundays and i don't so i haven't seen him since, like January. I got 4th place, which isn't bad. i wasn't terrible, but i wasn't great. I did rather well for not practicing at all, and really well for strongly disliking baking.
It's just not my favorite thing in the world. I do like to decorate cakes, which is something i had to do. I also had to make blueberry muffins and choux paste, which is the pastry for cream puffs. the outer shell. my cream puff shells were huge! which hurt me more than help. oh well... so yeah, it was fun and exciting and i'm excited for the competition this weekend!

The second bit on news is about work! i had applied for a promotion about march time, just to PT which is peer trainer, who gets to train all the new people, and basically run the show. i had an interview with my managers a couple weeks ago and i got offered the postition just yesterday. It was funny cause they said to keep it hush hush, and everyone was wondering if they were talking to me about the position. When you work with high school kids, they know everything about what is going on, like if i'm gone for a few minutes with the managers, then something MUST have happened. i told them that i don't know anything about it yet, that i should know at the end of the week. I'm not sure if they bought it. i do get a pay raise, they said a substantial raise. but i won't know the exact amount until possibly tonight. i get to wear a different colored shirt that everyone else, except the other PTs of course. we wear these light olive green shirts, just like that pot pic, that just don't look appealing, but now i will be able to wear a red wine color... like this one. I'm really excited to make it official!
