Early spring cleaning

One of my favorite memories of when i was younger (cause i'm still young) is of the spring cleaning mom and dad would make us do every year. at the time I really, and i mean REALLY, hated it. i think it was because then i couldn't play with friends or laze about like i usually do. when spring cleaning came around, you would know by the loud music playing somewhere in the house, and mom giving us tons of things to do. i would usually come up with an excuse to try to get out of it, which usually was i need to go to the bathroom! sometimes i really did need to go, and then ben and dianna would tease me about it a whole lot. by the way, i forgive you! :)
But now a days i really enjoy a good cleaning session every now and then. to get myself in the right mood to enjoy cleaning, i usually start with my room. i clean it, then i rearrange it. which then just loads me on with more cleaning. that way you can get the ultimate good clean feeling, knowing that you cleaned out underneath absolutely everything possible, and reorganize your stuff. i really like that. especially when you can figure out that this bottle of lotion would do better over on this shelf, because it is near the door or something like that.
i only did half of that today because i really like the way my room is arranged right now. and i honestly love when everything is in it's place, but i'm just to lazy to keep it that way! then after doing that, me and dad both did some serious cleaning. we vaccumed like crazy, we even got some of the spiderwebs that were just hanging around. we even broke out the carpet cleaner! dad did that while i did the dishes, took the pooch out when she was whining a lot, and mopped the kitchen floor! with all that said, i really like the smell of carpet cleaner! it reminds me of those warm summer days in illinois when all the windows were open and someone was cleaning the carpet.. ahh...

Wish our place was clean!! Bathroom eh? Mel's was always - "I need to shower" and she'd be in there for 45 minutes - made Carrie & I so ticked. And yes, we teased her too. =)

i sure don't remember those spring cleaning days . . . i start to get cleany on our house and then i get discouraged because we have so much crap. i'm just not sure how to slim it down. even after parting with everything i can, it's just not enough.

I remember
Spring housecleaning when I was a little girl. Mom (Grandma Skiby) would take down all the shear curtains and wash them up, some by hand. She would dry them outside on the clothes line and then iron them. The windows were washed. When the curtains were hung again it looked very pretty with the sunshine coming in. Nona Jean is 5 years older than I am. It would be interesting to see what she remembers about Spring housecleaning.

So when are you coming to Logan again. Dianna has come over and helped me organize and she is amazing at it.

Yes, shower, its a great excuse.

I've been in the mood to throw away lately. I'm sure if you dumpster dived in the dumpster by our house, you'ld get some good stuff.
