yeah i knit!! you should come visit so i can teach you the basics! and then we could spend time knitting with each other and watch movies while we do it! that sounds like so much fun!

that would be really fun. except that i'm already going to seattle in march or else i would. maybe after school is over. i'm watching some videos online and reading some things. i'm going to get some yarn and needles soon and try it out.

today i bought two sets of needles and two different yarns, some thick stuff and thinner stuff, and a book about how to get started. i can now cast on like a pro and i am working on doing a purl stitch. do you know those silly words? i just learned them today. purl stitching hurts my hands so i stopped for the day.

I really don't like the pearl stitch, so i just do the other one, i can't remember the name, but it's just like the pearl, only you go through the front side of the loop, then put the yarn on, and pull it through to the back. it's complete opposite of pearl. and when you put on the yarn, you go counter clockwise. it looks exactly the same, just in a different way. it's so much easier on your hands!! and yeah, i know a few words...

according to my book, the "knit" stich is the same as the "purl" stitch, but one is in front and the other is in back. I personally can't do the knit one. i have to do purl, with the needle going through the front and the yarn goes around ... front to back. is that clockwise? hmm... knitting stuff is so much easier in person!
