yay! another book review!
I liked this book to a point. It is a fairy tale, so i'm pretty sure you guys out there wouldn't want to read it, or at least admit you read it. But it's about a god, olus, who finds the human race really interesting. he decides to live with the mortals and he ends up renting land from a wealthy family and herds goats. He watches the family really close and comes to love the daughter of the family. after the mother of the family gets sick, the father swears to their god, admat, that if he healed her, he would sacrifice the
first person who gives him congratulations. But the oath is only valid for 3 days, after that, he need not follow through with his promise. Then an aunt who lives with the family pushes to come in and see her sick sister after being told and pushed to not go in, comes in and starts to give the father congratulations but the daughter interrupts and gives her father congratulations to save her aunt's life. Thus starts the adventure of finding admat to let her live and olus helps her find a way to live, all the while falling in love.
I enjoy my fairy tales. Although i do think it is a good fairy tale, actually reading the book is really confusing at first. It switches from one view point to another. It starts out from olus' view point then trades back and fourth from his view, to the daughters view. i didn't figure out how to tell which view point i was reading from until halfway through the book! it tells you at the beginning of the chapter. it'll say Olus if it is from his view.
