Book review!

CAMILLA : A BIOGRAPHY OF CAMILLA EYRING KIMBALL

sorry, no picture found... enjoy this one though!

Grandma gave me this book a long time ago, and i finally picked it up and read it. I really enjoyed this book, amazingly enough. I honestly was surprised at how much i didn't know about anything. Especially about President Kimball. Like how he had cancer,
and was the first apostle to be called that didn't live in Utah. All that jazz. I didn't even know that saints had moved into mexico to live free of the mobs that came after their families because of polygamy. So this book totally gave me a new outlook for the church during these times. And i found that, even though the Kimballs are a part of my family, i like reading about people's own experiences, and thinking how i might have acted in this certain situation, or that one. it's a good read for anyone who might was to learn a little more about the presidents life, or just for fun.

Favorite quote:
"During the long hours of flight they slept, and then woke as they were about to land, fever broken. Spencer buttoned the collar of his damp shirt, pulled up his tie, and asked Camilla to brush his hair. She had enough sense of humor left to ask, "Which one?""

I am glad you read this fun book. When I read it I was surprised at how Camilla was a little bit of a mischief maker when she was young, like most of the folk in our family. And too, she had a lot of responsibility at a young age to support herself. Even though she was poor, she never lost the desire to be a lady, to look like one and be treated like one. Also, I thought it was interesting that they were not married in the temple, but married in her mother's living room. Such a cute love story. Spencer had no idea he would be a Prophet some day. I think I should read it again. It has been awhile since I first read this book. Thanks Elicia, you brought back good memories of an enjoyable book.

Oh, Elicia, I am sorry that I forgot to sign the comment I wrote. This is Grammy at Barbara's house. So that last comment was from me.

Love, Grammy

Now it's Barb...not Grammy...

Love the book review! So glad you did it. Sounds like a book I'd like to read. I'm always interested in any little tidbit of the history of the church I can find. Love the quote!
