Rockies Game Last Night

I was so excited! i was going to a professional baseball game! my first! so many of the kids couldn't believe that i hadn't been to a professional game before! My work decided that it would be fun to take the kids to a game. i thought it would be fun, and since i hold a certain position at work, i'm required to go, even if we weren't getting paid.
But i really was excited! i had heard that it was going to rain, but didn't think much of it... since we hadn't much rain lately, and i thought it would be just a sprinkle. And i thought it would be fun to get rained on! when it first started to rain, i was excited, and it was just a sprinkle. i thought it was funny that as soon as it got a little hard, everyone ran for cover. a ton of the people on the bottom rows ran to where other seats were creating an over hang, and they all stood there! the second downpour lasted for like, a half hour, and it got hard and cold, because of the wind. so i had to take shelter during that one... the pics do get bigger if you click on them.

this was the first rain, it was cool cause you could see it in the lights

This is some of the garbage that had gotten drenched after the storms. work provided food for us to eat. i didn't get to eat because i didn't eat right away and all my food got drenched. they gave us these huge bags of peanuts to eat, but they used them to throw stuff at each other. i didn't like that part because i kept getting hit, and i wasn't even the one throwing stuff! (i was getting cranky then)

This is where we were sitting. the nosebleed... $4.00 a ticket here! one of the kids said that they never sit in this section, they would usually sit right next to home plate. said those tickets cost $140 big ones. i thought that was rediculous, i mean it's just watching people throw a small ball and hit it. i don't think i would ever spend that much just to watch something i could watch just as good on tv. oh, and that's Doug in the yellow. he's one of the chefs. i give him props for driving a Saab.

This is just another pick to show where we were sitting. no wonder these seats were $4.00, you can't see anything!

Here is where i hid out when the rain got too much to bare. you can see part of the crowd that was sitting in our section, and some of the kids i work with. sorry it is a little fuzy, but people were standing behind me, trying to get down the steps.

They put a tarp thingy over the field once it started raining. one of the kids said it was to protect the field. i thought that was silly, because it's just a field, and i thought a part of the challange, to really show how good you were, is to be able to play on any field, in the rain, snow (unless lightning is really close), any weather, with any field, no matter how it is. they kept taking wood thingy's to flatten the dirt after a few innings, wow, they are so concerned about it! i just don't get it.

Over all i had a great time getting wet, cold, grouchy, and wanting to go home for 5 of the innings, and i didn't even get to see who won. yay!

i imagine the field takes a lot of care and they probably didn't wanna do it! :)

i hate baseball. i went to one in SLC way back when and i thought it was the most boring thing ever. the only sport i ever liked watching was high school football, but mostly because I had to be there so i had to try to pass the time by liking it.

I don't like baseball on TV, but I do like it in person! Something about the atmosphere of being at a game.

You are totally cool. First times of anything are memorable.
I enjoyed you when you were visiting us here in Downtown Utah.
